Substitute

Create a substitute rule to replace a word with an alternative word to improve the listening experience.

For example, you could create a rule that replaces all instances of the abbreviation CO2 with the full name Carbon Dioxide.

You can apply this rule to all audios in a project or just a single audio.

NOTE: You should not add rules for numbers on their own unless their scope is for a single audio only. Issues with numbers should instead be reported to us through the Voice Issue tab.

Dashboard

1. Use Key to enter the word you'd like to replace.

2. For Rule select the Substitute rule.

3. Use Value to enter the alternative word to be used instead.

API

Use the /rules endpoint to create new rules and the /content endpoint to regenerate to apply new rules to older content.

New rules will only be applied to new content that you generate. To apply rules to older content you will need to regenerate it.
