A podcast feed is a type of RSS feed that allows you to distribute your audio and video content to podcast platforms like Spotify, Apple Podcasts, and YouTube Music. You can create two main types of podcast feed in BeyondWords:
  • Standard: Manually select which content items to include
  • Smart: Set rules to automatically include relevant content items
Each podcast feed automatically generates a corresponding playlist, and vice versa.
For web playback alongside podcast distribution, install the player separately or use share via URL.

Submit a podcast feed

To have your content listed on a podcast platform, you must submit your RSS feed to the platform. Your feed will typically go through an approval process before it’s listed.
Podcast platforms organize content into “shows” and “episodes”. Your RSS feed is used to create a show, and each item in the feed is published as an episode.
1

Copy the podcast feed URL

Go to Distribution → Podcast feeds in your project dashboard.Click your chosen feed to open it, then click the share icon at the top.Choose the content type you want to include in the feed (audio articles, audio summaries, video articles, or video summaries), then copy the shareable URL.
Some platforms (like Apple Podcasts) support video episodes via RSS feeds. However, support is inconsistent, and many major platforms (including Spotify and YouTube) do not accept video via RSS.In practice, video podcasts are usually uploaded directly to each platform rather than distributed via RSS.

Yes, you can submit your podcast feed to YouTube. However, YouTube converts each episode into a static-image video—even if your feed includes video. If you want to publish your BeyondWords videos on YouTube, you’ll need to download and upload them manually.
If you’re not seeing content in your podcast feed in BeyondWords, it may be because you have:
  • Created a standard feed without adding any articles
  • Created a smart feed with overly restrictive rules
  • Selected a content type (e.g. video articles) that you haven’t yet generated
If you’re seeing content in your podcast feed via BeyondWords but not via your chosen podcast platform, it may be because:
  • You have a legacy plan that doesn’t support RSS feeds
  • The platform has not approved or processed your feed yet
  • Your feed is set to “Private”
If you’re still having issues, please get support.
Once your show is approved, new audio or video will usually appear on podcast platforms within a few minutes of processing, but it can take up to a few hours.
If you update your content, the latest version will be reflected in the podcast feed after a short delay due to caching. If you delete content, it will no longer appear in the feed.
