To update your profile’s general settings (name, email, profile picture):1
Go to your profile
Click your profile picture → Profile.

Update general settings
In the General section, you can update the following information:
- First name: Visible to other members
- Last name (optional): Visible to other members
- Email: Used to log into your account
- Profile picture (optional): If not provided, your first name initial will be used as your profile icon
You can view your assigned role in your profile. Members with the appropriate permissions can update roles in Organization → Members.

Save changes
Once complete, click Save changes.
Notifications
To update your BeyondWords notification settings:- Click your profile picture → Profile
- Go to the Notifications section
- Check/uncheck the relevant boxes
- Click Save changes
Connected apps
You can connect your BeyondWords account to an AI app using the BeyondWords MCP. Once connected, you can use the assistant to configure and manage your BeyondWords account, projects, and content through conversation. For example, you can:- Manage projects and content: View and update projects, create and manage content, regenerate audio, and more
- Explore analytics: Ask about performance across your organization, projects, and individual content
- Manage pronunciation rules: View, create, and update rules that control how words and phrases are pronounced
- Explore and manage voices: Find available voices, view voice details, and manage the voices used in your projects
- Check languages and player settings: See which languages are available and review your player configuration
Connect an app to your account
To connect an AI app to your BeyondWords account:1
Go to your profile
Click your profile picture → Profile.

Start a new connection
Go to Connected apps in the left-hand sidebar, then click + Connect.

Choose and connect an app
Choose which AI app you’d like to connect your account to, then follow the instructions to complete the connection:

A paid Claude plan is required to connect your Claude account to your BeyondWords account.Pro and Max plans:
- Copy the MCP server URL provided in BeyondWords
- In Claude, go to Settings → Connectors
- Click + → Add custom connector
- Enter a name for the connector, such as “BeyondWords”
- Paste the remote MCP server URL into the relevant field
- Click Add
- Copy the MCP server URL provided in BeyondWords
- In Claude, go to Organization settings → Connectors → Add
- Hover over Custom, then click Web
- Enter a name for the connector, such as “BeyondWords”
- Paste the remote MCP server URL into the relevant field

- In Claude, go to Customize → Connectors
- Find the BeyondWords connector and click Connect

- Paste and run the command in your terminal

To connect your ChatGPT account to your BeyondWords account:
- Copy the MCP server URL provided in BeyondWords
- Click the the Open ChatGPT settings link provided in BeyondWords
- In the ChatGPT menu, scroll down to Developer mode, then use the toggle to enable Developer mode
- Close the dialog, select Plugins from the left-hand menu, then click +
- In the Name field, enter “BeyondWords”
- In the Connection field, paste the MCP server URL
- Check the box to confirm that you approve the BeyondWords server, then click Create

Complete authentication
You’ll be asked to sign in to BeyondWords and choose which permissions to grant. We recommend granting both permissions for full access to the BeyondWords MCP.Once complete, the connection is ready to use.To test the connection, ask your AI assistant a question about your BeyondWords account, projects, or content.

- Sign in with Google: Click to continue with your Google account

- Sign in with password: Enable the toggle, enter your email address and password, then click Log in

Your AI assistant can only access BeyondWords data and actions made available through the BeyondWords MCP. What it can access and whether it can make changes depends on the permissions you grant when connecting your account. You can grant read-only access or also allow supported actions such as creating, updating, and deleting content.Information retrieved from BeyondWords may become part of your conversation with the AI app. How that data is stored and used depends on the AI provider, your plan, and your settings.Connecting your account does not make your BeyondWords content available to other users.

The BeyondWords MCP uses OAuth to authenticate your account and manage permissions. You sign in directly to BeyondWords and choose which permissions to grant, so you don’t need to share your BeyondWords password with the AI app.
