BeyondWords lets you add background music to generated audio and video, so you can make your content more atmospheric.

Add background music by default

Go to project settings

Go to Content → Preferences → Background music in your project dashboard.

Enable background music

Use the toggle to enable background music.

Choose or upload a track

Use the toggle to enable an existing track or click + Track to upload a new one.If you upload a new track, make sure to enable it for your project.

Add background music to a specific content item

Open your content in the Editor

Go to Content → Items in your project dashboard, then click your chosen piece of content to open it in the Editor.

Enable background music

Go to the Background music tab in the left-hand sidebar, then use the toggle to enable background music for this content item.

Choose or upload a track

Select a track from the dropdown menu or click + to upload a new one.

Generate your media

Click Generate or Regenerate to finish.

Upload a new background track

If you choose to upload a new background track, follow these steps:

Choose your file

Drag and drop your audio file, or click Upload audio to select it.Background tracks can be WAV or MP3 files up to 50MB in size.

Name your track

Give your track a name for easy reference.

Determine scope

Decide whether the background track should be available across all projects in your organization or this project only.

Enable track (optional, in project settings only)

Use the toggle if you would like to enable the track as the default for this project.

Save changes

Click Save changes to finish.

FAQs

If your background track is shorter than the generated audio or video, it will loop as many times as required.
If background music is enabled for a content item, it will be included across all formats generated from that item (i.e. audio article, audio summary, video article, and video summary).If you want background music on some formats but not others, you can duplicate the content item and apply different settings.
Yes. If background music is enabled, it’s included in the generated audio or video file. This means it will be present across all distribution methods, such as embedded players, downloads, and podcast feeds.
No, you can’t change the volume of background music. This is set automatically to ensure a good listening experience.
To remove background music from a specific content item:

  5. Generate or regenerate your media
To disable background music for future content items:
  1. Go to Content → Preferences → Background music in your project dashboard
  2. Use the toggle to disable background music
No, background music won’t play during ads, intros, or outros. It will only play under the main editorial content (i.e. title and body content).
No, BeyondWords doesn’t generate background music. You can use the available stock track or upload your own music, ensuring you have the necessary rights.
