Say as letter sequence

Create a say_as_letter_sequence rule to force an acronym to be pronounced as a sequence of letters to improve the listening experience.

For example, you could create a rule that would require the acronym UN to be pronounced as a letter sequence, rather than as a word.

You can apply this rule to all audios in a project or just a single audio.

NOTE: You should not add rules for numbers on their own unless their scope is for a single audio only. Issues with numbers should instead be reported to us through the Voice Issue tab.

Dashboard

• Use Key to enter the acronym you'd like to be spoken as a word.

• For Rule select the Say as letter sequence rule.

• Click Add.

API

Use the /rules endpoint to create new rules and the /content endpoint to regenerate to apply new rules to older content.

New rules will only be applied to new content that you generate. To apply rules to older content you will need to regenerate it.
