Self-serve audio ads
Manage a self-serve advertising campaign through BeyondWords.
This guide explains how to manage a self-serve advertising campaign in BeyondWords. This means that you can insert pre-roll, mid-roll, or post-roll audio ads into your BeyondWords audio. You will need to upload your sponsored message(s) in mp3 format.

- 2.Select 'Launch an audio ad'
- 3.Fill in the details:
- 1.Title: This will appear on the audio player when the ad is playing
- 2.Campaign period:
- 1.Start time (optional): Leave blank to launch your campaign immediately, or schedule to start in the future (you can change your time zone in the 'Settings' > 'General' section of your project dashboard)

Ads are inserted into a pre-roll position (before your audio) by default. You can change this setting so that ads are inserted mid-roll (in the middle of your audio) or post-roll (after your audio has finished).
- 1.Go to the 'Settings (General)' section of your project dashboard
- 2.Scroll down to 'Audio ad settings'
- 3.In the dropdown menu under 'Ad positioning', select 'Pre-roll', 'Mid-roll', or 'Post-roll'
- 4.Scroll to the bottom and select 'Save changes'
You can view ad details and metrics in the 'Audio ads' section of your project dashboard:
- Title: The title of your audio ad
- Status:
- Running: The ad campaign is active
- Scheduled: The ad campaign will launch at the start time
- Paused: The ad campaign is paused
- Completed: The ad has reached the end of its campaign period
- Campaign period: The start time and end time — '-' indicates that the ad will run until it is manually paused or deleted
- Impressions: How many times the audio ad was played (not necessarily in full)
- Completions: How many times the audio ad was played in full
- Completion rate: The percentage of impressions that resulted in completions
- Clicks: How many times the companion URL was clicked
- Click-through rate: The percentage of impressions that resulted in clicks
Your ad will be inserted into audios streamed via BeyondWords players, which can be automatically embedded, manually embedded, or shared via URL.
BeyondWords will only insert one audio ad per stream. If you have ads with overlapping campaign periods, they will be inserted on an alternating basis.
If you wish to insert multiple audio ads per stream, you will need to upload them together as a single mp3 file.
Yes, you can create your ad creative using BeyondWords:
- 1.
- 3.
If you are using pre-roll ads and intros, the pre-roll ad will play first. However, bear in mind that intros and outros will only be applied to newly processed audios.
