Review audio

Learn how to proof-listen your BeyondWords audio and fix any issues.

This guide explains how to review your BeyondWords audio so you can check for any issues before distributing. This process is sometimes referred to as 'proof-listening'.

Pending review

If 'Pending review' is enabled, processed audio will be 'Unpublished' by default. You will need to manually publish the audio in order to distribute it.

If 'Pending review' is disabled, processed audio will be 'Published' (available for distribution) by default. You can manually unpublish an audio anytime.

  1. If you haven't already, enable 'Pending review' (🔒 Pro plans only)

    1. Go to the 'Settings' section of your project dashboard

    2. Scroll to 'Pending review' and switch the toggle to 'Enabled'

    3. Scroll down and select 'Save changes'

  2. Create your audio like usual

  3. Once processed, download your audio so that you can listen to it

  4. Make any necessary changes by editing your audio or reporting a voice issue, then repeat steps 3 and 4 as necessary

  5. Once you are ready to distribute, hover on the audio and select the '⋮' (Other actions) icon

  6. Select 'Publish audio' — your audio will now be available for distribution

Do I need to review my audio?

You can rely on BeyondWords to deliver accurate text-to-speech because we use advanced AI voices and natural language processing algorithms.

As a result, most of our publishers do not review their audio. They use our CMS integrations and automatic embedding to automate the audio publishing process.

However, we cannot guarantee that your audio will be free of errors. There is also the chance of an issue at your end — for example, a typo in the source text. So, if you want to ensure that your audio sounds perfect, we recommend reviewing it and addressing any issues.
